ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR
Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel.
After some time to rest, we will begin our city sightseeing tour, visiting the National Museum of Mongolia, Sükhbaatar Square and Gandantegchinlen Monastery, one of Mongolia's most important Buddhist monasteries.
In the evening, we will discuss the upcoming journey to Western Mongolia over dinner and prepare for our adventure into the Altai Mountains.

Today we fly to Ölgii, the capital of Bayan-Ölgii Province in the far west of Mongolia.
Surrounded by the Mongolian Altai Mountains, Ölgii is renowned for its distinctive Kazakh culture, traditional eagle hunting heritage and spectacular mountain scenery.
After meeting our local tour team, we will have breakfast at Galata Turkish Restaurant before exploring the city.
We will visit the local museum to learn about the cultures and traditions of the Kazakh, Uriankhai, Tuvan and Dörvöd peoples, as well as their traditional clothing, musical instruments and the unique tradition of eagle hunting in Western Mongolia.
We will then travel to a viewpoint overlooking Ölgii, where we can enjoy panoramic views of the colorful buildings along the Khovd River, winding waterways and the surrounding mountains, especially beautiful around sunset.

Today our journey into the Altai Mountains begins.
We travel towards Tsagaan Salaa to explore the Mongolian Altai Rock Art Complex, an important archaeological and cultural site included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Often described as an “open-air stone gallery,” the area contains thousands of ancient rock paintings depicting hunting scenes, wild animals and the everyday life of ancient nomadic peoples.
After exploring the rock art, we continue towards Altai Tavan Bogd National Park.
We will arrive at our ger camp and take a short hike through the surrounding landscape, observing the spectacular scenery and experiencing the traditional evening lifestyle of a local herder family.

This morning we continue deeper into the Altai Mountains.
We travel by vehicle through a broad mountain valley surrounded by rocky slopes and snow-covered peaks. As we approach the Altai Tavan Bogd mountain range, glacier-fed rivers, towering mountains and untouched wilderness create increasingly spectacular scenery.
We will explore the Potanin and Alexander Glaciers, located beneath the magnificent peaks of Altai Tavan Bogd at elevations of approximately 4,100–4,374 meters above sea level.
We will also walk along the foothills of the legendary “Five Holy Peaks” – Khüiten (4,374 m), Malchin, Naran, Bürged and Ölgii Peaks.
For adventurous travelers, Malchin Peak offers an opportunity to climb without specialized mountaineering equipment, subject to weather and local conditions.
This area provides exceptional opportunities for photography, with vast glaciers, dramatic mountain landscapes and some of Mongolia's most spectacular alpine scenery.
After a full day of exploration, we return to our base camp and spend a peaceful evening surrounded by the Altai Mountains.

After breakfast, we continue our journey through the beautiful valleys of the Altai Mountains towards the river known as Tsagaan Gol (White River).
Fed by meltwater from the surrounding glaciers, the river appears milky white because of the fine glacial sediment carried downstream.
Surrounded by vast valleys, dramatic mountain scenery and pristine wilderness, the area provides a peaceful opportunity to relax after our high-altitude trekking.
We then continue towards the spectacular Khoton and Khurgan Lakes.
Along the way, we enjoy views of mountain valleys, rivers, rocky slopes and snow-capped peaks.
In the evening, we arrive at a beautiful location near the lakes and stay with a local family in a traditional ger.

Today we explore the breathtaking Khoton and Khurgan Lakes, surrounded by forests, green meadows and magnificent peaks of the Altai Mountains.
We will also take a 5–8 km hike to Baga Turgen Waterfall.
The trail passes through beautiful mountain valleys, green alpine meadows and peaceful pine forests, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Altai peaks.
Hidden deep within the mountains, Baga Turgen Waterfall cascades down a rocky gorge into a cool pool surrounded by pristine wilderness.
The peaceful atmosphere, fresh mountain air and dramatic scenery make this hike one of the most memorable experiences of our Altai journey.
In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional Kazakh beshbarmak dinner, followed by a campfire evening and a festive gathering before returning to our ger camp for the night.

In the morning, we begin our journey back towards Ölgii.
On the way, we stop at Khar Lake, surrounded by vast open landscapes and peaceful waters, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch by the lakeshore.
We then continue to Sagsai, where we visit local Kazakh families and learn about the traditional art of eagle hunting, an important part of Kazakh cultural heritage in Western Mongolia.
During our visit, we will have the opportunity to experience the everyday life and customs of local families, taste traditional homemade Kazakh food and experience their warm hospitality.
After the visit, we return to Ölgii and relax at our hotel after a memorable day in the Altai region.

Today we travel through the spectacular landscapes of Western Mongolia towards Khovd City.
Along the way, we stop at beautiful Tolbo Lake, surrounded by vast steppe and mountain ranges.
We will take a short walk around the lakeshore and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before continuing our journey.
We then arrive in Khovd City, one of Mongolia's oldest cities, known for its rich history and diverse ethnic cultures.
If time permits, we will visit the local museum to learn more about the history and peoples of the Khovd region.
In the evening, we check into our local hotel and have time to relax.

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight back to Ulaanbaatar.
Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to relax after our Altai adventure, go shopping or explore one of the city's cafés.
In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner and share memories of our unforgettable journey through Western Mongolia.
