Today, the Eagle Festival, held annually in Bayan-Ölgii Province in September and October, offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience this remarkable cultural heritage in one place.
Mon Altai Tour invites you to participate in the Eagle Festival, where you can witness golden eagles responding to their owners' calls, demonstrations of hunting foxes using trained eagles, traditional horseback performances, and the rich craftsmanship of the Kazakh people. You will also have the opportunity to admire and purchase beautifully embroidered handicrafts and handmade souvenirs to treasure forever.

October 2
In the morning, we will take a domestic flight to Ölgii, the provincial capital of Bayan-Ölgii. Approximately 90% of the province's population consists of ethnic Kazakhs, who have preserved their own language and distinctive cultural traditions.
Upon arrival in Ölgii, you will meet the tour organizers and enjoy lunch at the Galata Turkish Restaurant, followed by a visit to the local museum.
Afterward, we will travel to Sagsai soum, where we will meet an eagle-hunting family and learn about their daily life and the traditional culture of hunting with golden eagles.
In the evening, we will return to Ölgii City and check in at a local hotel.

Eagle Festival
October 3–4
The Eagle Festival begins with a parade featuring traditional costumes and equipment, followed by competitions showcasing the eagle hunters' skills.
First organized in 2000, the festival has grown into a popular cultural event attracting travelers from around the world. Every year, the number of participating eagle hunters increases, making the festival even more colorful and spectacular.
During the competitions, golden eagles chase and capture a fox skin dragged behind a horse. The birds are awarded points based on their speed and ability to catch the target.
Over these two days, you will have numerous opportunities to take memorable photographs of the competitions, eagle hunters, and the vibrant cultural celebrations.
You will also have the chance to watch traditional Kazakh games, including Kokpar and Kyz Kuu. The winners of the festival will be announced during the closing ceremony.

Eagle Festival
On the third day, we will continue to enjoy the Eagle Festival and its cultural events. You will have another opportunity to witness the skills of the eagle hunters, equestrian displays, and various traditional Kazakh games and performances.
The festival concludes with an awards ceremony, where winners of the eagle hunting and other traditional competitions will be announced and presented with their prizes.
This final day offers a wonderful opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere, meet local eagle hunters, and take memorable photos of the event and its participants.
